Classics I Love | White Subway Tile

Thursday, May 4, 2017

When it comes to backsplashes, white subway tile seems to stand the test of time.  It's versatile enough to work with virtually every counter top option available.  It provides a clean back drop to a busy working kitchen because let's face it, as much as we'd like to have counter tops clear of clutter, sometimes that just isn't the case.  It also adds a bit of shine brightening an otherwise dark kitchen and looks great against warm wood tones.

If plain old subway tile isn't your thing, it comes in a variety of styles with beveled edges and different texture options. There's also a range of grout options from clean white to dark charcoal.  It's easy to make it your own.  I'm a basic white subway tile with white grout kinda girl.  It fits into every decorating style from traditional & classic to modern & rustic.  Aren't convinced? Let's take a look.

  1. We are building a house right now and having so much fun! When I was choosing the tile, the lady basically told me I had to do travertine in the bathrooms because it's a Texas thing. I brought the samples home but then went back and told her I really want white subway tile. Now that it's installed, it's just gorgeous! At some point in time travertine will be out of style but white subway tile never is.

    1. Yay for you for sticking to your original plan! It's easy to let "experts" convince you otherwise. And yes, I'm waiting for travertine to go away here too. :)

  2. Love these examples! I have boxes and boxes of white subway tile already, gifted to me by a family member who had a huge surplus after renovating. All I need are new cabinets, flooring and countertops and I'll be all set :)
