The wish list for the room included:
- Window treatments
- Furniture/art placement for wall behind sectional
- Fireplace surround
- Bookcase/built-ins styling
The plan is to go with custom linen panels with Greek key trim on the leading edge in 1 1/2 width to flank the large windows across the back of the room. Also, the wall behind the sofa needed a plan so I recommended using a demilune table there (in a high traffic area with small children sometimes this is best) with botanical prints arranged above and possibly lamps.
Here is the mood board I created for the living room.
The fireplace surround will eventually be replaced with a charcoal slate. I know that we were tossing around other ideas, but long term I think this will be best. The idea is to go with something classic and timeless rather than trendy and easily dated. I also recommended a round-ish mirror for above the mantle to break up all of the angles in the room.
My client has already done a nice job with her built-ins, but wants them look more finished. I recommended lining them with blue grasscloth to visually fill in the space and give a more finished look.
We are getting together next so week so I just might have a few new pictures to share.
