Looking For a New Faucet

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

We are in the process of changing out the kitchen hardware (back to nickel) and are in the market for a new faucet.  When we bought our current faucet, we didn't realize how much we would grow to despise it.  The retractable spray wand only retracts if you say the right curse word and make a mean face simultaneously. Seriously, we all get frustrated with it.  Plus, we need a faucet with a higher arch for filling and cleaning large pots.

I adore this entire kitchen, faucet included.

I really like the idea of an industrial faucet too like this one.

This is another favorite kitchen of mine.  Note: the faucet finish is not the same as the cabinet hardware and this is OK.  I often have clients who think all finishes need to match and this is a perfect example of a good mixture. It all depends on what you like, right?

So basically, we need a single hole, single control, high arching pull-down faucet.  Oh, and I should probably mention that I don't want to spend $500 on it.  Do you have a faucet that you love?  Please share...

  1. I wish I could help by offering a faucet for you, but I can't. Instead I'll just admire the pretty kitchen shots! :)

  2. I have the Kohler Vinnata and love it! It's held up well for the past 6 1/2 years and the sprayer retracts well with out curse words and mean faces!

  3. how about this one?

says its high arc, single control & hole, pull down and $266, and in nickel...

    hope this helps. :)

  4. I have this in oil rubbed bronze. It may not be a high enough arch for you, but I do absolutely love it. I installed it about 5 years ago. The quality is quite nice for the price. If you install the separate sprayer, for example, it feels heavy in the hand and the line is not the typical plastic, but has a nice steel/metal casing. This company has others that have a higher arch -- perhaps you'll find something. Good luck!

  5. Replacing a faucet is a huge decision isn't it? In late June we had the Moen Anabell one handle high arc faucet with the sprayer installed and it's not only lovely, but this is the most powerful sprayer we've ever had. This replaced a Kohler that supposedly had a lifetime waranty - but had problems from the beginning. Terrible manufacturer's response too. I look forward to seeing what you choose.

  6. we just replaced our kitchen faucet with a Moen - that looks alot like your last photo, although it's a brushed finish {not my favorite but always looks great and was needed to purchased in a hurry!}. I love the function and look!

  7. I clicked on the link to the kitchen you love...love it too...and the entire house!!! Take care, Caroline

  8. I have an industrial one I purchased at Home Depot several years ago for less than $200. I LOVE it!!!!!! I initially bought an industrial one at a restaurant supply store, but a lot of modifications would've had to be done to get it to work in my kitchen so I returned it and went with the Home Depot version. Home Depot has since changed to another faucet, but it is very similar to mine. I would highly recommend it! Good luck & I can't wait to see the reveal!

  9. Hi Rene, we have the Kohler Vinnata in our kitchen and we've been really happy with it! Good luck!

  10. Thanks so much for your help everybody! Decisions, decisions...

  11. Overstock has a pretty great selection with some great prices and even better...great REVIEWS! That's always my first go-to place when looking for faucets because of their variety. Keep us posted. http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Faucets/941/cat.html?keywords=faucet&searchtype=Header

  12. i bought mine in overstock so great price and quality
    take a look is amazing

    1. I have been looking at a similar faucet. The pricing is great!!!

  13. I got the Kohler Purist...but I think it was expensive and almost as expensive to install it! My husband was lazy and told me to hire a plumber and when he saw the bill he about had a heart attack. BUT...on the other hand it is about 4 years old and works like a charm.
