I've Been Everywhere Man

Friday, August 17, 2012

Well, technically not everywhere, but we sure covered some ground this week.  How does 1400 miles sound?

Before the trip, I asked my wonderful readers for advice on where to go and what to do in Pittsburgh.  Thank you for the great responses!  I wish we had more time to explore all of your recommendations.

Riding the Duquesne Incline was one of my favorite things we did.

The views were absolutely gorgeous at the top!

I'm not sure how you feel about breweries taking over churches, but we loved The Church Brew Works ;).

We lucked up and found fun little local restaurants along the way.  The last three are all images of Palazzo 1837.

And, while the mister was working, I got to do a little exploring of my own...

Be sure to check back later today for a sale announcement from one of my lovely sponsors.  Happy Friday!

  1. Looks like you had a great time! I might have to borrow your idea and ask for suggestions on my blog for our trip to Niagra in September. :)

lol about a brewery taking over a church. :) Whoever opened it was one smart person.

  2. ow if only a winery were in a church- i would be so much closer to God. ;) i love the pictures- looks like a great trip! i just got back from massachusetts yesterday and drove down 81 in PA. :)

  3. My mom is from Harrisburg and we have family in Pitt. Love that city there is so much to do and eat there. Looks like you had a great time.

  4. so glad you went to church while you were here! I half wondered if I'd see you there since my coworkers and I sometimes head there in the evenings :)

  5. Welcome to Pittsburgh, hope you had a great visit! I'm so embarrassed to say this but I live literally five minutes from the Palazzo and have never been! I do love that they added outdoor seating and might just have to go check it out before the weather gets too cold.

  6. You and your hubby are too cute - glad you had a great visit and some good traveling. You know I've never been to Pittsburgh and I've lived in PA my whole life. Too funny how things like that happen. Great photos Rene, and it's been fun connecting with you on Instagram.

  7. That is a lot of miles to cover! Looks like you had a fantastic time! Janell
