A new client of mine is looking for ways to inject freshness into her living room. Most of the furniture/decor is neutral. She currently has a skirted round table between to loveseats and I think this would be a great place to have a little fun.
These tables are super cheap. You can find them at Bed, Bath, & Beyond for under $20. And there must be a million and twelve different ways to trick them out with fabric & trim. Just use your imagination.
I should have bit my lip when I railed against my mom for having skirted table because I recently went out and bought one for my den: http://meetmeinphiladelphia.blogspot.com/2012/04/now-debuting-my-den.html
ReplyDeleteIt's covered with an off-white burlap that keeps it feeling fresh.
I have one under a bed somewhere. That last photo was one of my first pins for the styling, but I didn't even pay attention to the table, I love it, I think I'll go dig mine out!
ReplyDeleteI have one from Ballard Designs that is heavy particle board, stored in the basement. So glad to read this post….I need to give mine a second chance. I love that skirt with box pleats and Greek key trim!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for a similar one to use it as nightstand!
ReplyDeleteGreat inspiration!

Hi Rene,
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower to your blog and cannot tell you how much I am enjoying it! So many great ideas. I used to hate skirted tables but of course have grown to love them now too. I love how easy they are to update and refresh. Look forward to reading more great posts!

Wow, how awesome! I had no idea you could find those so inexpensively! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you how much I love the inverted pleat on a table skirt. That's such a great way to go.

I love the one with greek key trim, and the last one...so glam! I knew about the Ballard ones, but I think I need something smaller, so I'll definitely check out BB&B. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteHi, love your site! The BHG link doesn't work, do you recall what it is? I want some info on the items in that Moroccan-inspired bedroom...
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Thank you for pointing that out Juliebean. I corrected the link.
ReplyDeleteHope this helps,
René
oh i love a good skirted table! wish i had done them as bedside tables!
ReplyDeleteDid you make the table skirts or buy them? If purchased, where?
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get the table skirts?
ReplyDeleteMary Lou, the table skirts in the images above are for inspiration for a client project. Those were most likely custom made for those tables. Maybe try Ballard or etsy for custom made skirts?
ReplyDeleteI hope this helps.
