The special edition "Quick Fixes" Domino hit the stands yesterday. Rick and I were shopping so I made a beeline into Barnes & Noble to grab my copy. I will not ruin it and tell you everything that is inside, but I will say that I was pretty smitten when I saw a Weim on the cover :).
Mattie Gray was beaming with pride when she saw it. Weims just have that glossy magazine edge about them - do they not?
It is going to be a dreary, rainy day here in Greensboro and I cannot tell you how tempting it is to just sit here and drink coffee and read Domino. Now go grab your copy.
what?! seriously?!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen it yet, but my new BHG and Elle Decor arrived yesterday, so I know what I'll be doing later today. Welcome home!
ReplyDeleteGetting my copy today!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday.

My daughter is in love with those dogs! We can't wait to have one of our own soon!
ReplyDeleteDid you like it? Guess I better get my own copy.
ReplyDeleteI found mine at Target this weekend - I was giddy just seeing it back on a newsstand! SO good!

I learned about this and I even had it marked on my calendar! I love it!! There is SO many inspiring things in this issue.
ReplyDeleteAhhh....it's killing me not being able to run over to B&N and get my copy. Thanks for not spoiling the surprise...I can't wait until my SIL sends it!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to see if it's carried in Canada! It's dreary here too, and I feel the same way about wanting to sit and enjoy a warm drink and a magazine! :) Enjoy Rene. Glad you're back!

I read a terrible review of this... said it was all past 2008 photos... so now I am wondering if I need this since you say it's so good...???
ReplyDeleteOur Harris Teeter put it out last week and I bought it. It is bad of me to say this but I wish I could return it and get my 10+ back. It was fine but I don't think it will be a go-to reference.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say that I have only read a few pages so far and have seen some old/recycled pictures - which was a tiny bit disappointing. Flip through it before you buy. I do not want ya'll to be mad at me for spending $10 and being disappointed.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I still believe there is good color inspiration and resource info. So, to me it is worth $10. In this time of information overload I am having a hard time finding anything that feels new to me. Does anyone agree?
Cant wait to hear your thoughts on the new mag and looking forward to actually having a magazine to hold in my hands once again!
ReplyDeleteDidnt know (or havent been paying attention) that you had a weimaraner. We had these dogs when I was growing up when I spent my tween weekends at dog shows with my parents. Must say, second only to golden retrievers and one very special little chihuahua they are the best dogs ever.
I so agree Rene. As much as I love pinterest and blogs, there is so much info out there and it's used again and again. Finding something new is a struggle. I look to artwork for inspiration a lot of times.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you back!
Ok, Rene, you told me to, so I'm going to go. On my to-do list for tomorrow. And I don't mind recycled pictures. Still never have read the Domino Book of Decorating. For shame, huh?
ReplyDeleteI just got my copy last night and I am so happy it's a gray and foggy day...staying home from a workout to read...not sure if that's wise...but that's my morning!

Still have not picked up my copy. Even if most (or all) of the content is recycled, it was so good the first time around I'm sure it is also a great reminder!
