The holiday decor is gone, but the plate wall continues to grow. My apologies if looking at one more picture of this wall makes you want to barf. I feel like it needs some platters sort of in the middle, but the thrift stores aren't co-operating. Mom and I found one last weekend, but it had several brown stains that would probably stare me down over dinner. For now, this is how it looks. By the way, Finding Fabulous featured this wall yesterday. She is getting ready to do a plate wall in her dining room.
The evolution continues....
The paperwhites are still going strong and won't be around forever so now is the time to plant spring wheat grass, something I always do to remind myself that yes in fact grass is green, now that the grey has set in. Go to your local feed and seed store and purchase some. At this price, we can probably all afford it.
I really think it looks great with the plates you have now. Very pretty! Love the paperwhites too.
ReplyDeletelove the plate wall... i am in the process of doing a fun plate wall... not as elegant as yours...
ReplyDeleteoh and wheat grass... i love this idea... i need to see green and according to the weatherman it will be until may in these parts.

I like your plate wall also. It is very elegant. The paperwhites are lovely.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks beautiful. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to include it in a post I'm doing at www.TheDesignFile.net about rooms that are inspiring me for 2010. Would that be OK with you?
I like how you've arranged the plates but I agree with you about one big platter in the middle. What about a black plate or something? Bring the same colour of your buffet up more? I dunno....
ReplyDeleteLeslie at Design File, I would be honored by your mention! I really like your site! Thanks for asking.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great room! Beautiful!! Love the 2 drum chandeliers as well. Now I've got to take a trip through the rest of your blog:)
ReplyDeleteStunning- I need to plant some paperwhites I usually do but for some reason forgot about them this year. Thanks for reminding me-
ReplyDeleteLove that room too!
Love the plates - just as they are!
ReplyDeleteWhat was used to hang these plates? Were they these adhesive plate hangers seen at http://www.allplatehangers.com, or were they wire plate hangers.
ReplyDeleteTo hang the smallest plates, I hot glued ribbon to the back. All the other plates are hung by wire hangers.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful!! I love everything about it!
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny, I just flipped through a magazine today and earmarked a page because I liked the wheat grass. Yes, I'm a magazine hoarder too. Thanks for sharing this. Have a great weekend! ~Lisa
