A Mother's Day Re-Cap

Monday, May 9, 2016

Good Monday morning!  I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.  It's nice to have a day to spend with family celebrating all of the amazing women who touch our lives.  We kept things very simple yesterday with a cookout, strawberry shortcake, and a perfect evening al fresco.  Mom and D joined us for the fun along with their cute pups, Molly & Rose.

the mustache was temporary :)

Our oldest is home for summer and is diving into his new job of head swim coach at our summer swimming pool.  We are so proud of him for all he has accomplished.  His team is made up of over 100 kids ages 4-18 so he will have his work cut out for him.  Thankfully we have an incredible group of families who are the backbone of the team, so he'll be in good hands.  Adding to our cause to celebrate, our youngest was accepted into the National Honor Society this morning which makes his father and I so proud!  As much as I miss the days of chubby little feet, morning snuggles, and storybooks, I really love the fine young men our sons have become and enjoy any moment I get to spend with them.

A few other pictures from yesterday...

Reagan loves her Grandma and her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel "cousins".

Reagan chased Molly away to steal a seat on Grandma's lap.

An after dinner picture just to show you one of my favorite centerpieces that is suitable for most any occasion.  Miniature roses in julep cups marching down the center.  They add a pretty touch and allow you to still see your guests.

  1. Congratulations to both of your sons! How proud you must be of both of them. You and your hubby are doing an amazing job raising them. Looks like a lovely Mother's Day you had and fun to see all the pups.

  2. Isn't it amazing how fast they grow? I sooo miss mine being small, but like you, I'm also enjoying (and treasuring) the time we are in now. Congrats on both of your son's accomplishments! Exciting times during these ages, I think!

Hope you had a lovely Mother's Day!

  3. your boys have grown up before bloggers eyes! You must be a proud mama. I saw in your pics the fence with the trained vine. I love that look! Is it English ivy? And more importantly, does it need trimming constantly? Not sure I want to take on high maintenance at my age😜 Thanks, Mary Reeves
