It is hot as blazes here! Yesterday Mr. and I took the day off to celebrate his birthday. Our only plan was to do something fun, ha! So we enjoyed a nice lunch and traveled to Chapel Hill to explore the
botanical gardens. He gave me
this camera for Mother's Day and I snapped a few pictures with it while we were there.
I've been blogging with my iphone up until now so I have a lot to learn. The camera came with a bundle of extras and I'm slowly learning what they all do. So far I love it! Do you have any DSLR camera tips?
We have a long standing tradition of trying to delay turning on the air conditioning until Memorial Day. I might just cave this time. Ya'll, it's hot which means dress season is officially here. I've picked out a few cute ones that I feel certain will help me keep my cool this summer. Have you found any cute dresses for summer?

Some of those look like nighties! LOL
ReplyDeleteHot here in TN too and we've had our AC on since sometime last month. I'm not big on dresses, but the summer clothes are definitely being worn! I live for the first day to put on sandals!! HAHA
I think a couple are actually cover-ups Tina. Thanks for the laugh. Stay cool :).
DeleteWe caved and turned on our AC because of allergies this year. Those dresses are so cute, I might even be able to pull some of them off with my extra baby weight!
ReplyDeletePollen has been awful this year! Yes, I love flowy dresses for that reason alone. :)
DeleteOh I am so ready to shed the jeans and boots for summer dresses!! And your photo skills are pretty darn good!!
ReplyDeleteYou are sweet Kim, thank you!
DeleteThis makes me want to shop for dresses...although this is the cool season in SF :(
ReplyDeleteI always forget that about SF Mary Ann.
DeleteI love being in Chapel Hill - we are a family full of UNC grads so any excuse to visit is amazing. What gorgeous gardens and your new camera, and of course, the photographer took lovely pictures! We are in Georgia this week and it's even hotter than NC…needing a few of those dresses!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Yes, we love Chapel Hill and are there often for swim meets. It was nice to go there to do our own thing this time. The gardens were beautiful and I'm sure there is something to see any time of the year.
Deleteyour espalier is wonderful
ReplyDeleteYour camera shots are wonderful! Best tip I've learned with our DSLR camera so far is to hold the camera down lower than your face , more like above your waist for a straight on shot! Love those dresses but so many are too short for this mature female- but make cute tunics!!!xxo
