Adding Modern Touches to the Traditional Home

Friday, September 9, 2011

To say that I have been blessed with client work would be an understatement.  I have several completed projects that I want to share with you, but for now will share one that I am just beginning to work on.  This client happens to be an interior designer who needs a second pair of eyes.  The goal is to add modern freshness to her traditional home.  Sound familiar?

Here are some of the inspiration images she has collected.

And here are some pictures of her home.

My client would like to use the smaller room in the background as the dining room and possibly use the current dining room as a sitting room or den.  This could work with a smaller table like this one...

Do you remember my post about little surprises?  Maybe some fun fabric applications to the current chairs?

She already has this gorgeous painting that will be a great starting point for color inspiration.

This piece could be a nice touch for the sitting room...

Lots to consider - should be fun.

Enjoy your weekend sweeties!

I love a round pedestal table, so I think this one is pretty fabulous. The colorful art adds just the right touch too. And can we talk about that fabulous ottoman?

  19. Rene, how fun to conspire with another decorator! Can't wait to see what you do......one of my goals when we moved was to make our home feel more like us and temper the traditional furnishings we have with some funkier pieces. Easier said than done so I'm interested to see what you do!

  22. Renee: Is it just me, or am I missing something...I have looked ALL over for how to contact you! Profile, FB page, etc. and no email anywhere that I can see!
I wanted to ask you about the party tomorrow, because there isn't much information posted anywhere, and the links from last month have all been taken down.
Hmmmmm. Where is your email? Or don't you post it? I couldn't even find a way to message you on FB.
Well, I 'll just wait until tomorrow I guess!
