I have been on the lookout for a bamboo or bentwood chair to use as a desk chair.  This one keeps popping up on Craigslist.  A little more bent than bamboo, but for $25, with a little paint and new fabric, this could be a fun little chair.  Do you agree?

  1. Very cute and I think it would look so 'original' with a fresh coat of paint!! And, for $25 - how could you not? My only concern would be comfort if you plan to use it on a daily basis. I bought some bentwood chairs and ended up not using them b/c they weren't the most comfortable.

  6. Love the chair, it will be really cute when done. Don't worry about comfort, it's the look that's important, right? You could always plump up the seat with extra padding.

  8. Yes, and with that type of seat cover it would be very easy to update with new fabric! I'd grab it, if I had a place to put it! Janell

  9. I think you should go for it! Especially at that price. Buy it and put your stamp on it. If something better comes along you can always resell the chair for more! Love your style and your blog.

  19. Rene, you could
    have written this
    one just for me....
    I brought home an
    antique chair on
    Friday for my desk
    and because of the
    arms, it didn't fit!
    {And all sales final..
    grr...} I love the one
    that you show that
    has no arms....and if
    the Craigslist one
    fits your desk, I say
    go for it!
    xx Suzanne

  20. It is stylish and if anyone can make this bamboo chair into something beautiful, that would be you!

This is something I have been going through for the last few years. A few days ago I just purchased a pretty comfortable desk chair. I think this one is going to work! A post for the future:)

  21. Tell 'em you'll give them $15. That'd be worth it.
