My Door Is Blue

Tuesday, July 6, 2010

A couple of weeks ago, I tweeted that my front door is finally blue and a post would be coming soon.  Why did it take me so long to post this?  I don't know, but here it is.  If you recall, I have been obsessed with blue front doors for some time now.

Once I painted the door, the hardware became more noticeable.  The handle set, mail slot, and light fixture were ORB, but the door knocker was brass.  I'm not usually one to paint brass, but this time I did.  Rick and I purchased the knocker a long time ago on ebay from someone in England.  I don't think it was anything fine, because the finish was beginning to show signs of wear.  So I pulled out my can of orb and there you are.

The door is now BM wythe blue.  Love.

I really love that shade of blue too. I could really see some delphiniums that match that color in a planter by it! Come and visit sometime, I really enjoy your blog.

  7. I love the color, so fresh and it makes everything 'pop'. I am attempting at some point this summer to paint my doors a light green. I need to cover my bold red and soften my house a bit. Not sure when that will happen but hopefully soon. Thanks for sharing!!

  8. OK: LOVE IT! I have seen a new trend in blue doors but it is the powder blue color... I really like yours because it has a different tint. And I think when I first became a follower of your blog you had a post about blue doors. Wasn't it?

  10. I LOVE the color of your front door!! I'm thinking of the same color I love it so much. Is there any way to get a wider shot of the door so we can see the full color scheme of your house? I'm interested to see how it all ties together.
