Drive By

Hey everybody and happy Friday!

Now that the temperatures are warming up and we are beginning to get outside, many of us are thinking about curb appeal and what we can do to make our homes more charming.   So many charming houses catch my eye each day as I make my rounds and I plan to start sharing them with you on Fridays.  Everybody likes a drive by, right?

What gives this home curb appeal?  Let's see ...  Painted brick.  Dormers. Scrolled exterior light.  Gas lamp post.  White picket fence.  The landscape.  Dental molding.  Copper flashing.  Clay chimney shrouds. Paneled shutters with functional hardware.  Stacked stone. Architectural shingles.

I love a corner lot with a privacy fence.  Oh and that sweet little window above the garage didn't go unnoticed.  What did I miss?
There are so many ways to add curb appeal to your home.  It doesn't have to be a huge house, but by adding little touches here and there, it can be a charming house.  How do you add curb appeal?

Have a great weekend!

    6. Lovely! I'm pretty sure I've seen this home while cruising around town before. I work in the Starmount area and thought about your "Friday Drive By" feature the other day looking at some many pretty houses in this area. Nice pick!

    7. This is a house with huge curb appeal. I just love a house with dormers. And the fence is charming. Makes me want to go out and spruce up the front of my house too. Thanks for the inspiration.

    9. What a charming home. We also have dormers and a fence, but a Kentucky 4 Board (stained). Lots of stone on the house, and I try to keep flowers on the verandas! You can take a tour if you'd like; Alabama Stone Cottage Tour (at AtticMag).

    18. I know that I love illustrating homes because - ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of houses like this and one that I still love has a "turret" tower with a cone shaped roof. My Father tells me all the time, that I would say, "One day, I am going to live in that house."
I think my love of home runs deep, my parents still live in the same home, so full of memories.
A home is made of memories, each and every day.
